Mental Health Tip #6 Spread Some Joy by Helping Others

Help others. Doing things for others makes us feel good and it obviously makes the recipient of the kind act or gesture feel the same. So spread some joy. Check in with elderly neighbors, share an inspirational song or humorous post, donate what you can to your local restaurant's Employee Fund. Helping others gives us a sense of agency when things seem out of control and is one of the pillars of personal joy.

Freedom Institute is doing our part by supporting the No Kid Hungry campaign to provide healthy meals to children who are impacted by school closures. We have partnered with other mental health providers on CONNECT TO GIVE BACK and we will donate $1 from every Freedom Institute Telehealth clinical session to No Kid Hungry.  This is a wonderful example of how we can use our expertise and social reach to create positive and meaningful contributions to a larger community.
