Meet the Freedom Institute Team: JoJo Little, LMSW

At Freedom Institute, we believe it is important to cultivate new clinical talent and bring on people who are passionate about our work.  It's a special event for us when we bring on a new clinician, as the average tenure of our clinical staff is over 8 years of service.

Recently JoJo Little, LMSW, joined our clinical team as a primary therapist. A graduate of the Columbia University School of Social Work, JoJo has solid training in the application of Dialectical Behavior Therapy to the treatment of substance use disorders.  She brings to her role a natural ability to connect with people and outstanding clinical skills. Most importantly, JoJo always leads with kindness, her clients love her, and our team is better with her on it.

What brought you to this work?

I have a strong desire to help individuals reach their fullest potential in regard to living a life worth living. I am hopeful I can give back to the world what was given to me.

What keeps you in this work?

I means a lot to me to watch clients begin to take ownership of their lives and shift towards a perspective of hope and gratitude.

What do appreciate about working at Freedom Institute?

Freedom Institute's staff is committed to ensuring our space is a therapeutic environment for clients to explore their inner worlds. The staff here genuinely cares about their clients and demonstrates a desire for continuous learning.

What do you do in your spare time?

I like to first get active with yoga, spinning, or walking my dog and then relax by baking or going to the movies. Self-care is very important to me. I love to explore whether it be trying new restaurants locally or traveling overseas.
