Use DBT Skills to Cope During the COVID-19 Pandemic

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is at the core of all Freedom Institute's evidence-based clinical services.  Tessa Kleeman,  LMHC, our Director, DBT Programs talks about the importance of DBT skills in times of crisis.

Crisis Survival Strategies are at the heart of DBT Skills Training.  Here are some simple things you can do at home to support yourself through feelings of distress.  These skills go straight to the body to lower activity of the central nervous system and bring relief.  
 
DBT Skills: TIPP
TIPP stands for Temperature, Intense exercise, Paced breathing, and Paired muscle relaxation and is easy and beneficial for all to calm ourselves down. Click on the video below to see Tessa demonstrate TIPP.
