Meet and Learn: Harm Reduction and Groups

Applying Core Principles of Integrative Harm Reduction to Group Psychotherapy

In this 90-minute workshop, participants will learn how to apply the principles of Integrative Harm Reduction Psychotherapy (IHRP) when running groups that involve themes of substance use and other addictive behaviors. They will also learn about the unique qualities of group leadership from an IHRP perspective and understand how to employ the seven therapeutic tasks of IHRP in facilitating psychotherapy groups. This workshop will include didactic and discussion components and experiential and role-plays of a mock psychotherapy group to collectively facilitate an engaged training experience.
