Referral To Inpatient Treatment
Return to About Freedom Institute main page.
When a chemically dependent person makes the decision to give up alcohol or drugs, he/she generally needs the professional environment of an Inpatient facility where detoxification can be provided safely.
There are many excellent treatment centers throughout the country. Based on the assessment made by a Freedom Institute counselor, the chemically dependent person is usually referred to one of these Inpatient treatment centers, which are regularly evaluated and visited by the Institute's clinical staff. As it is recognized that those close to the chemically dependent people are themselves adversely affected by the addiction, most treatment centers include special family programs as part of the recovery process. These programs prove most helpful during the initial phase of recovery when relationships between family members go through inevitable changes.
