Continuing Care
Return to About Freedom Institute main page.
Primary intensive treatment is only the beginning of recovery from chemical dependency. Alcoholism and drug abuse are both progressive diseases and recovery is a long-term process.
For this reason, Freedom Institute’s counselors offer a continuum of care. Ongoing and consistent support is invaluable and readily available. Freedom Institute believes that commitment to a continuum of care is essential to a successful recovery. In addition to one-on-one counseling, a number of support groups are available at the Institute for chemically dependent persons, couples, parents, adolescents and family members. Groups of eight to ten people are facilitated by trained counselors and meet once a week for one and a half hours. This counseling, in combination with programs such as Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, Al-Anon, and Alateen enriches the recovery process.
